Past Programmes
2026 Programme
The third International Politics and Diplomacy for Health for Emerging Leaders ran from April to June 2026 and included five online workshops and a five-day masterclass in Sweden. It enrolled 31 mid-career professionals from across regions and sectors. The programme builds a global pool of leaders able to navigate political complexity, build partnerships, and drive change in uncertain environments.
The programme covered six themes:
- Decision-making dynamics.
- Trust-building and networking.
- Transformative leadership.
- Entrepreneurship and private sector insights.
- Managing uncertainty and failure.
- Effective communication.
The programme used a practitioner-to-practitioner approach, encouraging storytelling and peer learning. Participants engaged in discussions and simulations based on future scenarios, supported by curated reading materials, videos, and podcasts.
Graduates joined the Community of Health Diplomacy Practitioners - a growing professional network for ongoing exchange and collaboration.
Executive Programme 2026
2025 Programme
The second International Politics and Diplomacy for Health Executive Programme ran from April to July 2025 and included five online workshops and a five-day masterclass in Sweden. It enrolled 28 mid-career professionals from across the globe, representing a gender-balanced and geographically diverse mix from the public and private sectors as well as civil society.
The programme covered six themes:
- Decision-making dynamics.
- Trust-building and networking.
- Transformative leadership.
- Entrepreneurship and private sector insights.
- Managing uncertainty and failure.
- Effective communication.
The programme used a practitioner-to-practitioner approach, encouraging storytelling and peer learning. Participants engaged in debates and simulations based on future scenarios, supported by curated reading materials, videos, and podcasts.
Graduates joined the Health Diplomacy Community—a growing professional network supported by a dedicated web platform for ongoing exchange and collaboration.
2024 Programme
The first Politics and Diplomacy for Health fellows' programme took place in Q2-3 2024 with 28 mid-career professionals with 5-15 years of relevant work experience from 21 countries spanning all regions of the world. Twenty world recognized senior resource persons and practitioners contributed to the programme as faculty.
The objectives of the programme were to provide
- Skills on how to be successful in international and regional political processes and settings related to health;
- Practical advice and inspiration from more senior and experienced colleagues from case studies drawing on past and future scenarios;
- Insights into political economy as a discipline and associated tools for policy analysis;
- An understanding of health trends and transitions in various contexts affecting people’s health;
- A professional network of colleagues and world-class leaders around the globe.
The programme consisted of a combination of five online workshops, training, mentorship, and a 4-day master class in Sweden.
